Struggling in the Ecommerce market

Hi All,

Over the last 6 months or so I have struggled to get my head around all the jargon, hype, do this, do that, make money this way or that way, you must use Facebook or Google+, how about Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube, Ebay, Amazon and all the many more ideas that are thrown at you.

Well so far, I have come up with my gigoclick brand name with the strap line of "for all things trendy" the name evolved from my Initials with the goclick bit added to the end and I also created a logo around this.

The next thing I did was search all over the internet for a free platform to create an online store, wow I have to say there are so many but I also have to say that lots say they are free but are so limited that you could not really build up a decent size business without upgrading to a paid version.  I ended up using a paid version of Bigcommerce, (is this the best ? maybe , maybe not).

What to sell, this one in my opinion can be very easy especially if you actually already make or own lots of items to sell, if not then your world is your Oyster, I have ended up with a bit of a mixture including clothing, Hardware, Tools, House and home, Fitness and a few other things.

Shipping and Postage, for anyone that has tried to sell online i'm sure you will agree this can be a bit of a nightmare, certainly if you intend to sell worldwide, on the other hand if you are lets say in the UK and just stick to selling there it can be fairly easily sorted via Royal Mail or Parcel Force. I guess this is the same if you sell just into your own home Country.  FREE SHIPPING can be an option and is a great selling point, if you can offer this then your sorted.

I do have my store up and running even though I am still updating and tweaking things so it works in a fairly professional way, ok now HOW DO I GET TRAFFIC to my store and remember if no one is visiting your store then your going to sell diddly squat.
If you read all about it and watch loads of YouTube like me then you will see hundreds if not thousands of ways to drive traffic to your selling pages or store, some of this information does seem very very good, the only problem being there is so much information and what should YOU do !!.

I am currently really not far enough on or successful enough to offer much help, however as soon as I can I will re do this blog with as much help as I can.

Ok enough for now as I could go on and on with this subject, please reply and make comments, I would love to hear about your experiences and all the ups and downs along the way.

Thanks for reading.
George.

Another day another Dollar

Everyday Matters

It doesn't matter what we look at or talk about, whether it be your car or motorbike, the clothes you wear every day or anything else, everything has some sort of product or item attached that can be bought or rented.

Today while driving it ran through my mind about all the costs of living that are always there and can be almost impossible to remove.

Even sitting here not doing anything except typing, I have a glass of wine beside me, the TV is on and the lights are on, ok the electricity is solar powered but of course all the items to make that work have to be bought or made from something so even that costs something.

Ohh well that's enough of that, smile and keep shopping.

gigoclick the beginning

Hi and welcome to my first blog, not sure where to start but here goes,  its been a hell of journey starting out with our new gigoclick store here on bigcommerce in fact its been a bit of a nightmare getting things set up and at least moving in the right direction.
Starting from nothing with no products listed in our store to now with several hundred items all be it mainly clothes, but its all good and we are adding items every day.
We decided right from the start to begin with our main line of clothing and then add other items as we go along, we also decided it would be a good idea to add links to some other sites even with some of them being in direct competition for sales, however we think its all good and good luck to anyone for trying to make a living online or offline.
Also we have a few affiliate programs running, the first ones being   Corker from Portugal then we have boohooMan and also Joseph Turner, we also have links into Amazon for direct purchases.
For now ill leave it at that and add more tomorrow, below you will find a few of our links, why not take a look and see some lovely nice quality products, thanks for taking the time to read this.
